APEX AP-GS918 Power/Volume Button Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 3 Steps
In this guide, you'll find out exactly where the screws are hiding that keep the lid in place, plus a clear walkthrough on how to carefully pop open your device and take out the power and volume buttons without any hassle.
Step 1
- First up, grab your trusty screwdriver and hunt down the two 4.9mm Phillips #00 screws in the top corners of the case. Unscrew them and set them aside – you’re one step closer!
Step 2
Heads up! When pulling apart the lids, watch out—those speaker wires connecting to the motherboard are super short and don’t like to be stretched.
- Gently slide the plastic opening tool into the delightful little gap where the screen meets its cozy plastic case.
- Start freeing the bottom of the case from the screen by carefully working your way around the entire edge, gently prying it apart like you're unwrapping a present.
Step 3
- Gently set the bottom lid next to the screen case, making sure the power and speaker buttons peek out at the corner. Use your trusty tweezers to carefully pop those buttons off.
