ACER Aspire V5-571P-6609 Touchpad Replacement

Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 7 Steps

Ready to give your ACER Aspire V5 laptop a touchpad makeover? This guide will walk you through the complete process of replacing that old touchpad with a shiny new one. Let's get started and bring your laptop back to life! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 1

- Alright, close that laptop and give it a little flip! Look for the battery slide release, which we’ve highlighted with a handy red circle just for you.

- Grab a pointed tool (we went with a trusty screwdriver) and slide that release to the right while you're facing the laptop from the non-battery side.

- Now, gently pull the battery away from the laptop while keeping the slide release in the open position. Easy peasy!

Step 2

- Let's kick things off by unscrewing those two Phillips #0 screws. You've got this!

- Once you've tackled those screws, flip your laptop over and give it a nice open. Time to dive in!

Step 3

- Grab your trusty Jimmy tool and slide it between the top of the keyboard and the outer panel. Give a gentle nudge to pop those top tabs out of their cozy spots.

- Before lifting the keyboard completely, take a moment to carefully detach the two flex cables. This step is crucial to avoid any cable mishaps.

- Once those cables are safely disconnected, lift the keyboard off the laptop and place it on a safe, non-static surface. You're doing great!

Step 4

- Start by unscrewing those six Phillips #0 screws like a pro.

- Next, give that plastic lock bar a little lift to release the two ribbon cables.

- Now, with a gentle touch, use tweezers to carefully pull those cables out of their cozy ports.

Step 5

- Slide a Jimmy between the front and back panel of your laptop with ease.

- Gently twist the Jimmy tool in your hand until the top panel starts to pop loose. Keep going around all sides until the top panel is completely free from the main body.

- Carefully lift the top panel away from the main body and give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done!

Step 6

- Flip that top panel like a boss and find that touchpad!

- Get that lock bar up and kick that cable to the curb!

- Time to show that touchpad who's boss - peel off the tape and give those screws a little twist.

Step 7

- Get ready to show that touchpad who's boss! Gently slide your fingers under and over it, then give it a little nudge upwards with confidence. Make sure to keep a firm grip as you lift it out.

- Time to give your device a touchpad makeover! Swap out the old for the new and get ready to click and scroll with style!
