Galaxy S10 – Replace the headphone jack

If your headset mic has decided to take a vacation, it might be time to swap out the headphone jack on your Galaxy S10. Don't worry, we've got your back with a clear and concise step-by-step guide in this photo tutorial. To get to the headphone jack, you'll first need to carefully remove the stubborn glass back cover. Step 1

- Press and hold the Power button until you see the 'Switch off' option pop up on your screen.

- Tap on 'Switch off' with your finger and hang tight until the screen goes dark.

Step 2

- First, flip your Galaxy S10 over so the screen is facing down. Let's get started on this repair adventure!

Step 3

- Grab a suction cup and pop it right at the bottom of the back cover, then give it a gentle pull upwards. This will create a nice little gap between the back cover and the housing frame.

- Now, take a flat, sturdy tool and slide it into that gap you just made. Give it a little push to widen the gap by nudging the back cover upwards. The iFlex is a great tool for this job!

Step 4

- Grab a flat plastic tool and carefully work your way around the edge of the housing, piece by piece. We recommend using the iPlastix for this task. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 5

- Gently pry the battery connector away from the mainboard using your trusty spudger. You've got this!

- First, grab your trusty screwdriver and loosen those 7 Phillips screws that keep the speaker snug in its spot.

- Next, gently pry the speaker out from the display unit using a spudger or some tweezers. You've got this!

Step 7

- First things first, let's disconnect that headphone jack connector from the motherboard. Grab your trusty spudger and gently pry it loose.

- Now, give the side of the jack a little nudge to pop it free, and then carefully lift it out of the case.

Step 8

- Pop in that audio jack and give it a little push until you hear that satisfying click! It's like a high-five for your device.

- Now, let's reconnect that connector like old pals reuniting. You've got this!

Step 9

- Gently place the speaker back above the charging port and give it a little press down to secure it in place.

Step 10

- Time to connect that battery connector on the mainboard! Just give it a gentle press until you hear that satisfying click. You're doing great!

Step 11

- Start by gently placing the plastic cover back onto your Galaxy S10, making sure to hook it into the top of the display unit.

- Next, give the cover a good press with your fingers until you hear that satisfying snap as it clicks into place.

- Finally, secure the plastic cover with the 8 Phillips screws, and you're all set!

- Fire up your device and dive into Samsung's built-in test mode!
