DIY Guide to Replace Galaxy S10 Screen: Step-by-Step Tutorial

Duration: Between half an hour and two hours of hands-on fun!
Steps: 24 Steps

In these handy photo instructions, we’ll guide you through the process of swapping out your Galaxy S10 display all on your own! First things first, you’ll need to carefully remove the back cover. Keep in mind, it’s made of delicate glass and sticks pretty firmly to the display unit, so take your time with it. Since there are quite a few components to tackle, we’ve labeled this repair as a bit tricky. Depending on your replacement display, you might also need to transfer some small parts from the old display unit. Wishing you lots of luck and enjoyment while you replace your display! We’d love to hear your thoughts on this repair guide too. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 1

– Press and hold the Power button until you see the ‘Switch off’ option pop up on your screen. It’s like giving your device a little nudge!

– Tap on ‘Switch off’ with your finger and hang tight until the screen goes dark. It’s just taking a quick power nap!

Step 2

– Alright, let’s get this show on the road! Flip your Galaxy S10 over so the screen is facing down. Easy peasy!

Step 3

– Grab a suction cup and stick it on the bottom of the back cover. Give it a gentle pull upwards to create a little opening between the back cover and the housing frame.

– Now, take a flat, sturdy tool and slide it into that gap you just made. Give it a little nudge to widen the opening by pushing the back cover up a bit more. The iFlex is perfect for this job!

Step 4

– Grab a flat plastic tool and carefully slide it around the edges of the housing, section by section. We recommend the iPlastix for this task—it’s a handy little gadget!

Step 5

– Start by unscrewing those Phillips screws that are keeping the plastic cover snug as a bug in a rug.

– Next, grab a flat tool and gently slide it under the glued coil to loosen it up. A steel spatula works wonders for this task!

– Now, it’s time to leverage that plastic cover! Use a spudger to gently pry it from the top edge of the display unit.

– Voila! You can now lift off the cover along with the coil and the NFC antenna. Easy peasy!
