Duration: 45 min.
Steps: 32 Steps
Hey there! Just a heads up: once you pop open your device, the special IP certification (your trusty shield against dust and water) will take a little vacation. Keep that in mind as you dive into the repair!
Now it's time to give that camera the boot and pop in a shiny new one! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
Before diving into the repair of your Galaxy S21 5G, why not take a moment to run through our handy checklist? It’s a great way to ensure everything's working as it should. Plus, you’ll be able to see if your repair did the trick afterward. Let's get started!
- Give the side and volume down button a little love by pressing and holding them together for a few seconds.
- When the menu pops up, just tap on Power off and confirm your choice with your unlock code. Easy peasy!
Step 2
Watch those fingers! After heating, they might feel a bit toasty. Just warm up the back cover enough so it’s still comfy to touch.
The back cover is glued on pretty tightly, so let's give it a little warmth before we dive in! Grab a hot air tool like a heat gun or even a trusty hair dryer to help loosen things up. You've got this!
- Warm up the back cover by gently gliding the hot air tool along its edges. Keep it moving for an even heat!

Step 3
To create a snug little opening between the back cover and the display unit, grab yourself a flat, sturdy tool. We suggest the iFlex for this job, as its super sharp edges slide in like a charm!
- Grab a suction cup and stick it to the lower edge of the back cover, then gently pull it up. While you're at it, slide the iFlex between the display unit and the back cover. You're doing great!

Step 4
- Gently run your tool all the way around the edge of the back cover, loosening it up piece by piece like a pro.
- Slide those flat picks under the back cover at regular intervals to keep that pesky glue from sticking back together.
Hey there! Just a friendly reminder to keep your tool from going too deep into the device to protect that camera module. A hard plastic pick is your best buddy here—its design prevents any accidental deep dives. You're doing great!
To keep the edges of your case looking sharp and not all scratched up from the iFlex, make the switch to a plastic tool like the iPlastix as soon as you can. Your device will thank you!
Step 5
- Once you've successfully popped off the back cover, your first task is to gently take out all those plastic picks. They're like little helpers, so treat them kindly!
- Next, unfold the picks and set them aside. You've got this!
Step 6
5 × 4.9 mm Phillips
Keep your screws in check during the repair process to avoid any disappearing acts! A trusty old sewing box can do the trick. And if you want to level up your game, our high-quality magnetic pad ensures everything stays put. No more rogue screws rolling away!
- Gently loosen those five Phillips screws holding the charging coil cover in place.
- Once they're free, why not place them on your magnetic pad? It's a great way to keep track of them!
Step 7
Hey there! Remember to unplug that battery connector ASAP to keep any pesky short circuits at bay. You've got this!
- Gently lift the metal cover of the NFC antenna like a pro.
- With a steady hand, use a plastic lever tool to carefully pop the orange battery connector away from the motherboard. A plastic spudger works wonders for this!
