DIY Guide to Replace Battery in Galaxy S22 Ultra

In this detailed photo tutorial, we will show you step by step how you can easily replace your battery yourself.

Step 1

– Press and hold the side and volume down button simultaneously for a few seconds.

– Tap on Power off in the displayed menu.

Step 2

– Heat the edge of the back cover by running the hot air device evenly over it.

Step 3

– Attach a suction cup to the lower edge of the back cover and pull it upwards to create a narrow gap.

– At the same time, insert a flat tool into the gap between the back cover and the screen unit.

Step 4

– Drive your tool completely around the edge of the back cover to loosen it piece by piece.

– Put the detached back cover aside.

Step 5

– Carefully separate the connectors of charging coil and NFC antenna from the board with a spudger.

Step 6

– Loosen the five Phillips screws that fix the metal cover on the board.

– Flip the detached cover upwards and pull the lower, glued end of the charging coil off the speaker.

Step 7

– Gently wiggle the orange battery connector free from the motherboard using your trusty spudger.

Step 8

– Unscrew the six Phillips screws that are keeping the speaker snug in its spot.

– Gently pry the speaker out of its resting place with a spudger and set it aside like a pro.

Step 9

– Separate the two connecting cables from the motherboard and the USB board with a spudger.

– Put the disconnected cables aside.

Step 10

– Gently pry apart the two connectors of the screen cable using your spudger like a pro.

– Carefully lift the disconnected cable out of your device and set it aside.

Step 11

– Warm up the battery by gently waving a hot air gun over the edges of the case and the matching area on the screen.

Step 12

– Grab your trusty battery spudger and gently place it on the lower edge of the battery, then lift it up with care.

– Once you’ve got it free, just lift out that battery like a champ!

– Now, slide the flat iPlastix under the battery at the edge you just lifted and carefully detach it bit by bit from the bottom of the screen unit. You’re doing great!

Step 13

– Peel off the protective films from both sides of the new battery.

– If needed, give that battery connector a little bend so it fits snugly into the motherboard slot.

– Nestle the replacement battery back into its cozy spot and press down firmly to secure it.

Step 14

– Carefully position the screen cable within the device and securely connect its two plugs to the motherboard and the designated slot in the screen unit.

Step 15

– Carefully line up both connecting cables one after the other in the device, and snap their connectors onto the USB and motherboard like a pro!

Step 16

– Carefully place the speaker back in its original home.

– Secure it in place with the six Phillips screws, ensuring it’s snug as a bug!

Step 17

– Reconnect the battery by gently pressing its connector onto the motherboard like you’re giving it a warm hug.

Step 18

– Get that charging coil back in line with the motherboard, making sure it matches up with those screw holes in the metal cover.

– Give that glued end a solid press to make sure it sticks.

– Secure the cover with the five Phillips screws, and you’re all set!

Step 19

– Reconnect the NFC antenna and charging coil by gently pressing their connectors onto the motherboard, like giving them a little high-five!

Step 20

– Plug your Galaxy into the mains to see if that new battery is getting its charge on.

– If you have a wireless charger handy, give it a whirl to check if the wireless charging is working too!

Step 21

– Get the new adhesive frame lined up just right with the back cover. The cutouts in the film are your helpful guides!

– Peel off the carrier film from the bottom of the adhesive frame and press it firmly onto the edge of the back cover.

– Now, with a gentle touch, peel off the remaining protective film from the top of the adhesive frame.

Step 22

– Wrap up your Galaxy S22 Ultra repair by gently pressing the back cover back onto the screen unit. You’ve got this!
