Duration: 45 min.
Steps: 11 Steps
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to swap out your Galaxy S9’s faulty front camera all by yourself! If your front camera is acting up, the aperture is stuck, or your selfies are coming out fuzzy, this repair is just what you need. And remember, if you need help, you can always schedule a repair!
Step 1
Tap the little Play button in the upper right corner of an image to kick off a video for each step. It’s a fun way to follow along!
– First things first, let’s give your device a little break! Press and hold that power button until you see the ‘Power off’ option pop up.
– Now, just tap on it with your finger to confirm that you want to turn it off. Sit tight and wait for the screen to go dark. You’re doing great!
Step 2
– Warm up the area where you want to start, then stick a suction cup on the bottom of the back cover.
– Gently slide a flat tool between the back cover and the frame while pulling on the suction cup.
Hey there, just a friendly reminder to take it easy while removing that back cover! It’s a bit fragile and can crack like a cookie if you’re not careful. If things get tricky, feel free to warm it up a few times and give it another go. Remember, this process might take around half an hour, so grab a snack and take your time to avoid any mishaps. You’ve got this!
The iPlastix is crafted from plastic, so it’s gentle on your device—no scratches here! Just a heads up, though: it’s a bit on the soft side and can be a little tricky to slide in. But don’t worry, you’ve got this!

Step 4
10 × 4.0 mm Phillips
This phone is pretty straightforward with just two screw lengths to deal with. If you find any screws playing hard to get, a trusty pair of tweezers can lend a hand!
– The logic board cover, complete with the NFC tag, is secured at the top. Time to give it a gentle nudge!
– Carefully pry it up a bit, and then you can lift it out like a pro.
Step 6
– First up, grab your trusty spudger and gently disconnect that front camera connector.
– Carefully lift it from the side that’s free of any PCB components.
– Now, it’s time to gently pop the camera out of its cozy little holder.
Step 9
10 × 4.0 mm Phillips
– First up, let’s get that midframe back in place along with the NFC tag. Just pop it on!
– Give it a gentle push all around to make sure it’s snug and secure.
– Finally, it’s time to tighten all those screws back in. You’re almost done!
Step 10
Fingerprint connector
– Alright, before you snap that back cover into place, make sure to reconnect the fingerprint sensor. It’s like giving your device a little high-five!
– Now, gently position the back cover over your device and lift it just a tad to access the connector. Try to keep that back glass steady and close to the device—like a cozy hug!
– Grab a plastic tool, like a spudger, to reach the connector and give it a little push down. If you’re feeling fancy, ESD tweezers or an ESD spudger work great too! Just take your time and keep those hands steady—you’re doing awesome!
Step 11
Heads up! Once you pop open your smartphone, its water resistance isn’t quite what it used to be. So, handle with care and keep it dry!
– Before you pop that back cover back on, take a peek at the glue. It should be spread out nice and even. If you’ve got any glue goofing off, just wipe it away.
– Now, give that back cover a gentle press.
– Time to heat things up again to make sure that glue sticks like it should.
– While the glue is getting cozy, feel free to give the back cover a little love tap with your fingers.
