How To Fix Cosplay Rabbit Ears Apparel Tutorial
Fix Your Cosplay Rabbit Ears
Step 1: Rip the Ears Off
Rip the ears off of the headband. They are attached with glue, as seen in the photo.
Step 2: Cut a Hole
Cut a small hole into the middle backside of the ear, vertically, to remove the wired structure.
The hole should be 1-2 inches long.
Step 3: Remove the Wire
Feel around on the inside of the ear until you find the black wire.
Step 4: Straighten the Wire
Straighten the wire completely.
Double the wire by bending it in half.
Step 5: Bend the Wire
Bend one end a couple of times over, as seen in the pictures. This end will be the bottom base of the ear.
Step 6: Attach the Wire
Add the wire back into the fabric ear, with the thicker end at the bottom of the ear. Make sure it is centered.
Thread your needle and do a simple stitch along the cut to sew up the hole from the wire.
Step 7: Sew the Hole
Sew a simple stitch along and down the wire, looping the needle over and under it.
Step 8: Add the Fabric
Measure out a small piece of white fabric. The measurements should be around 1 inch by 4 inches.
Cut out two strips of this measurement.
Step 9: Wrap the Fabric
Wrap the fabric around one side of the headband, relatively tight.
Sew along the headband, as seen in the pictures. You should be able to slide the fabric off of the headband afterward.
Step 10: Attach the Fabric
Spread the two sides of the fabric strip out and place it on the base of the ear.
Sew each side down securely.
Step 11: Finish the Ears
Slip the headband back into the fabric on both ears to make sure it is stable.
Your ears are now finished! They should stick up perfectly and be able to bend in different directions.
