At Salvation Repair, we offer a limited lifetime guarantee on all parts and labor, and our expert technicians are here to help you get your printer up and running in no time.
Step 1: Remove the Printer’s Hood
To begin, you’ll need to remove the printer’s hood. Start by opening the printer’s mouth by pulling down on it. There are two mouth pieces that need to be pulled down. Next, adjust the flap covering the scanner upward, as shown.
Step 2: Remove the Flap for the Scanner
The flap for the scanner is attached with two clips that can be dislodged by pulling lightly away from the printer. Locate the three screws on top of the printer, and remove them using a T-9 screwdriver.
Step 3: Remove the Power Button Panel
To access and remove the fourth and final screw attaching the hood, the panel for the power button must be removed. Reach into the mouth of the printer and press on the small clip behind the power button. This allows the panel of the power button to be removed.
Step 4: Remove the Screw Behind the Power Button Panel
After pressing the clip, pull out the power button panel by pulling from right to left. Remove the exposed screw that was covered by the power button panel. Do not try and torque the screw from an angle, as this will ruin the screw’s head and make it even more difficult to remove.
Step 5: Lift the Hood and Remove the Ribbon Cables
Carefully have one person lift the hood of the printer 2-3 inches above where it was resting. Remove the ribbon cables and wires attaching the motherboard (the only green PCB board) to the hood by gently pulling upward on them.
Step 6: Disassemble the Hood
After being separated from the printer, the hood is ready to be disassembled. Remove the only screw on the printer hood’s underside, as shown. Use a T-9 screwdriver. With the screw removed, separate the two pieces of the hood by lifting it vertically.
And that’s it! With these steps, you should be able to repair your HP Printer D110a.
