Step 1
- To keep your device safe from any pesky short circuits during the repair, make sure to turn it off completely before diving in.
- Give the sleep/wake button a good press until you see the 'Switch off' slider pop up on the screen.
- Swipe that slider from left to right like you're closing a door on a noisy neighbor.
- In about ten seconds, your iPhone will be all powered down and ready for some TLC!
Step 2
2 × 3,3 mm Pentalobe
To keep all those tiny parts and screws safe and sound, we suggest using a handy screw storage solution. An old sewing box works wonders for this! Here at Salvation Repair, we prefer a nifty magnetic mat that keeps our removed parts neatly organized, just like a puzzle waiting to be put back together.
- Grab your trusty Pentalobe screwdriver and carefully unscrew the two Pentalobe screws chilling on either side of the Lightning connector. They're just waiting to be freed!
- Don’t let those little screws wander off! Place them in a handy screw storage to keep them safe and sound.
Step 3
When you're heating things up, just warm your device enough so it's cozy to touch—no finger burns allowed! Keep it chill and safe.
- First, lay your iPhone 7 on a nice, soft surface to keep its back cover safe from scratches—because we all know how much it loves to shine!
- Next up, grab a hot air tool like a heat gun or even a trusty hairdryer. Give the edge of the screen a gentle warm-up from the outside to loosen that sticky adhesive. It's like giving your phone a cozy spa day!

Step 4
Opening up your iPhone 7 means waving goodbye to its dust and splash protection, as well as its waterproof charm. But don’t worry, you’re on a repair mission now, and that’s what counts!
- Once the edge of the display has warmed up nicely, stick a suction cup right at the height of the home button.
- Give that suction cup a good pull upwards to create a snug little gap between the aluminum frame and the display.
- While you're at it, slide a flat and sturdy tool into that gap. A hard plastic plectrum works like a charm!
- Now, gently push down on the aluminum frame with your tool to widen that gap a bit more.

Step 5
- Now, take that trusty pick and glide it all around the display, giving it a gentle lift as you go. This will help those little noses pop off the aluminum frame, making way for your repair magic!
Take it easy when inserting the picks near the sleep/wake button—too deep and you might just tickle the flex cable of the display. Let’s keep everything safe and sound!
Keep that display nice and toasty while you tuck in some flat picks around the edges. This way, the glue won't decide to get cozy again in the spots you've already loosened. You're on the right track!

Step 6
1 × 2,4 mm Y-Type
3 × 1,0 mm Y-Type
Battery connector
At the start of your repair journey, give that battery connector a little loosen up! This nifty move will help you dodge any pesky short circuits and keep your iPhone 7 from accidentally firing up while you're in the zone.
- Grab your Y-type screwdriver and get ready to tackle those four Y-type screws! Loosen them up and then gently lift off the bracket plate that’s sitting over the battery connector. You've got this!
Step 7
Display connector
Home button connector
When you're detaching the display connectors, be sure to work from the side that’s free of those tiny components on the board. This little tip helps you dodge any potential oopsies!
- Now, let's gently part ways with those two display connectors (the display and home button) using your trusty plastic spudger. You're doing great!

Step 8
2 × 1,2 mm Phillips
FaceTime connector
When you're about to detach the FaceTime connector, kick things off from the side that’s free of those tiny components on the board. This little move helps you steer clear of any potential mishaps!
- To kick things off, grab your Phillips screwdriver and gently remove those two Phillips screws that are holding the bracket plate snugly over the FaceTime connector. Once they're out, you can lift that plate away like a pro!
Step 9
1 × 1,7 mm Phillips-Schraube
2 × 2,6 mm Phillips-Schraube
1 × 1,9 mm Phillips-Schraube
1 × 2,3 mm Phillips-Schraube
Heads up! Those screws you're dealing with come in different lengths. To keep your display in tip-top shape when putting everything back together, make sure not to mix them up!
- Start by loosening those five Phillips screws that are keeping the bracket plate snug over the earpiece. They’re just waiting for a little love!
- Once you've got them loose, set the bracket plate aside and gently bend the flex cable along with the FaceTime camera to the side. We're making room for some action here!
- And just like that, you can easily lift out the earpiece. You're on a roll!
Step 10
1 × 1,7 mm Phillips-Schraube
2 × 2,6 mm Phillips-Schraube
1 × 2,3 mm Phillips-Schraube
1 × 1,9 mm Phillips-Schraube
Those little golden contacts on the earpiece are your trusty guides! Just make sure to line them up perfectly with the golden contacts of the FaceTime cable set. You've got this—let's make those calls crystal clear again!
- Pop that earpiece back into its cozy spot at the top edge of the display, just like it was before the adventure began!
Step 11
- To make sure the new adhesive frame fits properly, you must first remove all old adhesive residue from the back cover and display frame.
- Try placing the adhesive frame on the back cover to align it correctly.
Even with a shiny new adhesive frame, your iPhone 7 won't be diving into pools anytime soon. It's still ready for some light splashes though! Keep that in mind while you enjoy your repair journey!
We're here to guide you on how to attach the adhesive frame, using the iPhone 8 as our shining example. Don't worry, the steps are just as easy-peasy for the iPhone 7!

Step 12
FaceTime connector
2 × 1,2 mm Phillips
Just like when you're detaching the FaceTime connector, it's a smart move to lean the display against something sturdy. This way, those flex cables won't stretch too much and get cranky on you!
- To get that display unit snugly back onto the logic board, start by positioning it upright at the top of the back cover. You're almost there!
- Next, give the FaceTime camera connector a gentle press with your finger until you hear that satisfying click. It's like a little high-five!
- Once you've got that connector in place, simply lay the display down alongside the back cover. You're doing an awesome job!
Step 13
Display connector
Home button connector
- Reconnect the display connector and home button to the logic board, just like reuniting old friends! They’re ready to work together again.
Step 14
1 × 2,4 mm Y-Type
3 × 1,0 mm Y-Type
- Next, it's time to reconnect that battery connector! Make sure it's snug and secure.
- Now, grab the bracket plate and place it back over the battery connector. Fasten it down with those four Y-type screws like a pro!
Step 15
- Gently place the display next to the back cover frame and fold it over with care.
- Slide the display towards the sleep/wake button until the lugs click into place on the back cover.
- Now, press down on the display firmly across its entire surface to secure it snugly.
Wrong position
Right position
Hey there, superstar! Just a quick reminder: make sure that silver chip on the cable is sitting exactly where it used to be (check out the photo for reference). If it’s not in the right spot, you might see some funky discolorations and spots on your screen after you finish up. If that happens, don’t sweat it—just tweak the cable's position again!
Step 16
2 × 3,3 mm Pentalobe
- Alright, let’s wrap this up! Grab your Pentalobe screwdriver and give those two Pentalobe screws a little twist to secure them back in place, one on the left and one on the right of the Lightning connector. You're almost done!
