Step 1
- First things first, let’s keep your iPhone safe! Power it down completely to dodge any pesky short circuits. Just press that standby button for about three seconds until you see the 'Turn off' slider pop up on your screen.
- Now, give that slider a gentle swipe from left to right and hang tight until your iPhone is fully powered down. You're doing great!
Step 2
- Loosen the two Pentalobe screws on either side of the Lightning Connector and stash them away safely in your screw storage. You've got this!

To keep your screws and small parts safe and sound, we suggest using a screw storage solution. An old sewing box can work wonders for this! At Salvation Repair, we love our high-quality magnetic mat, which helps us arrange the parts just like they were in your phone. This way, you’ll know exactly where each screw came from, making reassembly a breeze!

Step 3
When it comes to heating your device, think of it like a warm hug – just enough to feel cozy without burning your fingers! Keep it at a comfy temperature, and you're golden.
- First, let's set the stage for success! Place your iPhone 8 on a soft, clean surface to keep it scratch-free while you lift the display.
- Next, grab a hot air tool, whether it's a heat gun or a trusty hairdryer, and give the outside of the display a nice, even warm-up. You're on the right track!

Step 4
Opening up your iPhone 8 means waving goodbye to that sweet warranty that protects against dust and splashes, as well as its waterproof charm. But hey, you're on a repair adventure now!
- Stick a suction cup on the display just above the Home button and give it a gentle tug upwards. This will create a tiny gap between the aluminum and display frames – you're doing awesome!
- Now, grab a flat plastic tool and slide it into that narrow gap you just made. Use it to nudge the aluminum frame upwards a bit. Flat plastic picks work wonders for this task!

Step 5
While you're opening up your iPhone 8, remember to keep it within a 180° angle! Going beyond that could risk those delicate flex cables getting a bit too stretched. Let's keep everything safe and sound!
- With a gentle touch, push the display upwards using your trusty plectrum to pop those lugs free from the aluminum frame. You're doing fantastic!
- Next, swing the display open towards the standby button. Lean it against something sturdy to keep those flexible cables from overstretching. You've got this!

Step 6
2 × 2.6 mm Phillips
2 × 1.0 mm Phillips
Before diving into the repair fun, make sure to disconnect that battery connector! It’s like putting on your safety goggles – it keeps those pesky short circuits at bay and prevents your device from accidentally powering up while you're in the zone.
- Grab your trusty Phillips screwdriver and tackle those four Phillips screws. Once they're out of the way, use your tweezers to gently lift off the cover. You've got this!
- Next up, it's time to disconnect the battery connector! Use a plastic spudger to carefully pry it off. Easy does it, and you're on your way to success!
Step 7
- Grab your trusty spudger and give a little love to those display connectors! Disconnect both the display and the home button with a gentle touch. You're nailing it!

Right position
Just a friendly reminder: the silver chip on the cable needs to be placed exactly as it was before (check out the photo!). If it’s not, you might notice some funky discolorations and spots on the screen after you’re done. If that happens, don’t panic! Just double-check the cable’s position and make sure that chip is aligned just like in our photo. You’ve got this!
Step 26
2 × 3.4 mm Pentalobe
- Time to wrap things up! Grab those two Pentalobe screws that you've been saving on either side of the Lightning connector and screw them back into the rear case. You're almost there!
