Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
Here’s how to access the hard drive on your Acer Aspire 3000. With this guide, you’ll be able to easily swap out your old hard drive for a fresh one, bringing new life to your device. If you’re feeling stuck, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
– Let’s get started by placing the device face down – nice and steady.
– Now, position the laptop so the battery is on the opposite side from you, and the headphone ports are facing your way. Easy peasy!
Step 2
You’ll see your battery is unlocked when the tab slides over to the side with the open lock symbol. Easy as that!
– Locate the switch right below the battery. Gently slide it to the left to unlock the device. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 3
Be sure to push the battery only when the tab is in just the right spot—otherwise, your device might not be too happy!
– Find the battery and the tab located to its right. Gently pull the tab while pushing the battery away from you at the same time. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 4
– Let’s get started by removing the two 4.6 mm Phillips #1 screws from the left side of the hard drive panel, located in the lower right corner on the back of the laptop. Use a Phillips head J1 bit to make this step a breeze.
Step 5
– Start by slipping the plastic opening tool under the left edge of the hard drive cover. Gently lift it up to begin prying it open.
– Once you’ve got it lifted, pull the cover upwards and outwards to release the tabs on the right side. Then, carefully remove it from the device.
