Step 1

– Gently slide the battery release switches away from each other, just enough to free up that battery.

Step 2

– Take out the battery carefully to get started.

Step 3

– Let’s get started by removing the three 1.2mm Phillips #00 screws from the bottom panel. This is the first step in giving your device a brand new life!

Step 4

– Time to get started! Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the bottom panel, and let’s get this repair underway!

Step 5

– The heatsink and fan are tucked away on the right side. Grab your tools and carefully locate them before proceeding. If you need help along the way, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 6

– Take out the two tiny 1mm Phillips #0 screws holding the fan in place.

– Next, spin out the four 2mm Phillips #0 screws from the heatsink—just like unscrewing a soda cap, but more satisfying.

Step 7

– To detach the heatsink and fan, simply lift the fan upwards and gently pull it towards the center. Keep it steady and take your time—you’re almost there! If you need a hand, you can always schedule a repair.

Success!
