To get to the headphone jack, you’ll need to take out the motherboard. This process requires removing a few screws and components, so make sure you’re working in a tidy, organized space to keep everything in check. It’s always a good idea to avoid any rogue screws rolling away!

Step 1

– Grab your trusty Torx T5 screwdriver and unscrew the two 5.0 mm screws at the bottom of your phone. Easy peasy!

Step 2

– To remove the SIM card, grab an unfolded paperclip and use it to gently press down on the metal plate on the left side of the phone. Keep pressing until it pops up – it’s like a little surprise!

Step 3

– Gently push the screen upwards towards the top edge of the phone and tilt it to uncover the black flex cables hiding beneath.

Step 4

– Pop up those two black ribbon flex cables using your spudger—just a gentle lift will do the trick. Then, carefully lift off the screen and set it aside.

Step 5

– Let’s get started! Use a Torx T5 screwdriver to carefully remove the two 4.0 mm screws from the cover of the headphone jack, located in the upper right corner. Take your time and make sure they’re completely removed before moving on to the next step.

Step 6

– Time to get started! Use your trusty spudger tool to release the ribbon cable on the headphone jack cover. Just gently push up on the connection to set it free.

– Now, carefully remove the cover from the motherboard. You’re making great progress!

Step 7

– Grab your spudger and use the pointy end to carefully nudge the headphone jack off the motherboard. Once it’s loose, just lift it out and set it aside.
