Step 1

– Hop online and grab the Sony PC Companion from their website or the link provided below.

– Get PC Companion installed and ready to roll.

Step 3

– Make sure your device is powered up and not screen locked, then you’re ready to update the firmware!

– Kick things off by launching the ‘Support Zone’.

– Next, go ahead and choose ‘Phone / Tablet Software Update’ to get rolling.

Step 4

– Go ahead and choose “repair my phone / tablet” to get started on your repair journey!

Step 5

– PC Companion will grab a few files to get your PC prepped and ready for the update. It’s like a warm-up before the real action begins.

Step 6

– Pick your device from the lineup—choose wisely!

Step 7

– Power down your tablet. If it’s being stubborn, hold down the power button a bit longer to force it off.

– Hold the volume down button firmly while you plug in the micro USB cable.

– Once your PC spots the device, PC Companion will grab the latest firmware and send it right over to your tablet.

Step 8

– If your PC isn’t recognizing your tablet, it means the drivers need to be installed. Search for ‘S1Boot Fastboot’ drivers online, or grab them from the link below.

– Once PC Companion is done, unplug your tablet and power it up.

– Your device is now back to factory settings, sporting the latest firmware and no more security locks.
