Proscan Tablet Touch Screen Replacement

Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 10 Steps

Step 1

– Gear up with these tools for the job.

– Work your way from left to right.

– Metal Spudger

– Plastic opening tool

– Precision tweezer

– Point pen tool

– Driver with bit size J0

Step 2

– The tablet’s back cover is held on with a snug snap fit. Grab your trusty metal opening tool and slide it into the gap between the backing and the edge—easy does it! Carefully wiggle your way around until the two are separate, but hold off on popping it off completely just yet.

Step 3

– After you’ve carefully worked your way around the tablet’s edges, take a peek inside.

Step 4

– You’ll see two wires still holding on to the backing of the computer – these are the speaker wires. Don’t worry, just gently disconnect them and you’ll be all set!

Step 5

– Go ahead and gently pull out the speakers with your hands to fully release the backing. You’re doing great!

Step 6

– Alright, here’s the deal: the spots highlighted are screws that need to be loosened to free the motherboard and digitizer from the outer glass parts. Just remember the classic rule: lefty loosey, righty tighty. We kept all the screws on a magnet board so nobody’s little screws roll away on us.

Step 7

– There’s a sneaky little tape wire connecting the screen to the grey digitizer. Just give it a gentle tug with your tweezers, and they’ll come apart like old friends reuniting!

Step 8

– Now, let’s shift our attention to those nifty camera and volume bits along the highlighted edges. The screws have already been removed, so just give them a gentle tug to pull them off.

Step 9

– Carefully lift the vibrant green motherboard away from the sleek grey digitizer, making sure you’ve unscrewed everything first. The only thing holding on should be a little tape wire connecting to the battery.

Step 10

– Put everything back together by retracing your steps in reverse order. Nice work!

– If you hit a snag or want a pro to take over, you can always schedule a repair.
