Nvidia Shield Tablet Front and Rear Camera Replacement

Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 9 Steps

The camera lens on your device is like a brave knight, always facing the elements for that perfect shot! But, just like any hero, it can get a few battle scars along the way—think cracks and damage. Considering how often you snap pics, especially with a portable champ like the Nvidia Shield Tablet, it’s time to give those cameras a little TLC. Dive into this guide to swap out both cameras on your tablet!

Step 1

– To kick things off, gently take out the stylus from your tablet.

Step 2

– Place the tablet in front of you so the buttons, microSD, and stylus port are your new best friends, right within reach.

– Pop open the microSD slot like you’re revealing a hidden treasure.

– Grab the flat end of your trusty spudger tool and gently ease open the case, starting at the microSD slot. Glide that spudger smoothly along the inside edge of the case—slow and steady wins this race!

Step 3

– As you take off your case, keep an eye out for those sneaky little clips hiding along the edges.

– Once you’ve got it off, just set the old casing aside like a pro.

Step 4

– Turn your tablet so that the top edge is pointing away from you—think of it like prepping a stage for the main act.

– Spot the top speaker—it’s the black, semi-rectangular superstar chilling on the top right side of the tablet.

Step 5

– Time to get those speakers free! Grab your trusty screwdriver and unscrew the two 3.0 mm Phillips #00 screws that are holding the speaker in place. You’re doing great!

Step 6

– Carefully lift the speaker using the flat end of your spudger—think gentle, not Hulk smash.

– Grab a plastic opening tool and slowly peel back the tape that’s hiding the speaker wire like a secret agent.

– Now, gently but with purpose, use those precision tweezers to pull out the audio input ribbon. Nice and steady!

– Lastly, carefully unplug the power source from the speaker using the precision tweezers. You’re almost done!

Step 8

– Now that the speaker is out of the way, let’s find that front-facing camera cozying up right beneath it.

– Look over to the left side of the tablet, where you’ll spot the rear-facing camera perfectly aligned with the camera hole on the back casing. It’s like they were made for each other!

Step 9

– Carefully disconnect each camera using your precision tweezers.

Success!
