iPhone 11 Pro Back Glass Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
This repair is a bit on the tricky side and requires some fancy tools. But don't worry, you've got this!
This one's a bit of a challenge and requires some specialized gear. The iPhone 11 Pro is built tough with surgical-grade stainless steel and a single, sleek piece of machine glass on the back, coated with optical PVD for extra durability. Plus, the unique camera setup on the back makes this repair trickier than your average fix. A full housing replacement is often the go-to, especially for DIYers. But hey, if you’ve got the right tools, you can totally tackle it with the technique shown here.
Step 1
- Pop that iPhone 11 Pro back glass under the probe to get it focused, then set it down onto the operating panel like a boss.
- Pick ‘iPhone 11 Pro’ from the model menu and hit ‘Load’ to get the drawing up and ready.
Step 2
- Adjust the laser light's scanning area on the back glass for a precise fit.
- Once you've got the settings right, hit 'Mark' and let the laser light work its magic on the back glass!
Step 3
- The laser light scanner isn’t vibing with the triple-lens camera spot just yet.
- After a few rounds of trial and error, we nailed a custom drawing for this tricky camera zone.
- Time to give it another go: scan the triple-lens area with the laser, using your fresh new drawing as a guide.
Step 4
- The scanned back glass comes off pretty easily, but the glass around the triple-lens camera is a bit more stubborn and needs some extra care.
- Our usual tools didn’t cut it here, so we brought out the big guns: a glass cutter, a grinding tool, a sculpture knife, and a cutting nipper to carefully remove the glass around the camera setup.
- After that, clean up any leftover black adhesive using the Laser Machine to get a nice, smooth finish.
Step 5
- The iPhone 11 series has a camera holder ring that's a bit tougher to work with, and those thick inside walls make polishing a real challenge. Plus, the camera lens is super delicate and could get damaged during the process.
- So, we recommend switching out the back glass for one with a large camera hole to make your iPhone 11 series repair much easier.
