Lenovo ThinkPad Helix Battery Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
Ready to swap out that Lenovo ThinkPad Helix battery? You’ve got this! A fresh battery is your ticket to keeping your device powered up and ready for action. As you dive into the steps, make sure you’ve got a tidy workspace and a little container for those pesky screws—no one wants to play hide and seek with them! Remember, Lenovo says: ‘Only use the authorized battery made for your tablet. Other batteries might just decide to throw a party and ignite or explode!’ Keeping safe means keeping your device intact and fully functional! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
When prying the screen, try to use plastic tools if possible. Metal tools, like the one shown, can be a bit too aggressive and might damage your device. Let’s keep that screen intact!
Get ready to flex those prying skills! There’s a little groove running along the edge of the tablet—slide your tool into that groove and gently work your way around to pop it open. A bit of pressure is totally normal, just take your time.
– Grab your trusty plastic opening tool or pick, and gently coax that screen off.
– Once you’ve managed to lift the screen just a tad, keep moving around the edges until it’s free from the tablet. Time to pause for step two!
Step 2
Once separated, you won’t be able to completely remove it because of some cable connections holding things together.
– Lift that screen up slowly and carefully – we don’t want any accidents!
– Time to get a little gentle – open the clips on those ZIF connectors and carefully pull out the cable. Easy does it!
Step 3
– Now that the cables are safely out of the way, it’s time to gently lift off the screen. Be careful, it’s a delicate move!
Step 4
– Let’s get started! Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four nylon-coated 3 mm screws that hold the battery in place. This is the first step in giving your device a new lease on life!
Step 5
– To put everything back together, just work your way back through these steps in reverse. You got this!
