To get that tablet screen off, you’ll need to say goodbye to the battery and motherboard first. Let’s do this!
Step 1
– First, power down your device to avoid any unexpected surprises – think of it as putting your tablet to sleep before the repair party starts!
– Now it’s time to get a little hands-on: use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry open the back cover of your tablet. Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds!
– Take a look at the second picture to see what your tablet should look like with the back cover removed – you’re making great progress!
Step 2
– Peel away the tape that holds the ribbon cable in place.
– If it’s being stubborn, grab some precision tweezers to help you out!

Step 3
Be gentle when handling those delicate ribbon cables – we don’t want any rips or tears to happen on our watch!
– Gently lift the ribbon cable out of the power button connector. No need to rush, take your time!
– To release the cable, just lift the clamp on the connector and gently pull it out. Smooth and easy does it!
Step 4
Grab your trusty Phillips #00 or #000 bit and let’s get those screws out of there!
– Unscrew the bits holding down that metal piece keeping the battery snug.
– Five tiny Philips screws, just 2 mm—no sweat!
Step 5
– Peel off that grey tape like you’re unwrapping a gift – just a little less festive.
– Grab your Phillips #000 drill bit and unscrew that sneaky 2mm screw hiding in there.
Step 6
– Next, gently peel off the second piece of tape from the other ribbon cable connected to the battery. Take your time and be careful not to touch any of the components.
Step 7
– Let’s get those screws out of the way! Start by removing the screws that hold the battery connector cover snugly in place.
– You’ll need to tackle two 2mm Phillips screws for this part.
Step 8
– After you’ve unscrewed those pesky screws, gently lift off the metal cover you see before you.
Step 9
– Carefully lift out these parts:
– Unplug the battery ribbon cable.
Step 10
– Now that the battery ribbon cable is free, it’s time to carefully lift out the battery. Take your time and be gentle – you’re making great progress!
Step 11
– Time to get those screws out! Grab your trusty Phillips 000 drill bit and let’s tackle the task at hand.
– You’ll be removing eleven 4 mm screws.
Step 12
– Gently unplug the ribbon cable from the motherboard.
– To do this, flip up the little latch on the connector and carefully slide the cable out.
Step 13
– Unplug the other end of the motherboard ribbon cable.
– This end is sticking to the tablet’s frame with some adhesive. Just give it a gentle nudge to lift it off.
Step 14
Your tablet’s speakers are hooked up directly to the motherboard.
Some parts of the motherboard are stuck to the tablet’s frame with adhesive, so give a gentle wiggle and pry to lift them out.
– Gently lift the wire from the slots where it’s snugly connected to the motherboard. Take your time—precision is key!
Step 15
– Carefully peel off the strips of tape that are keeping the tablet’s frame snug against the screen.
– You should find ten pieces of that classic grey tape.
Step 16
The screen is stuck tight with adhesive all around its edges, so get ready to carefully pry it loose!
– Gently detach the screen from the tablet’s frame
– Warm up that adhesive just enough, then carefully use your trusty plastic opening tool to lift the screen away.
Step 17
– Now that you’ve taken it apart like a pro, it’s time to put it back together! Just follow these steps in reverse, and your device will be back in action.
– If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
