Ematic Funtab FTABXXX Speaker Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
After jumping into our troubleshooting page, you’ve figured out that the speaker is having a rough day and is sadly defective. Time to give it the TLC it needs!
Step 1
– Step one: Power down that device like a pro. Safety first, right?
– Next, gently pop open the device. Check out the plastic tabs in the image—they’re the MVPs holding it all together, so go easy on them!
Step 2
– Find the speaker chilling in the bottom right corner of your device. Take a moment to appreciate the red and black wires that connect the speaker to the motherboard—they’re doing some important work!
Step 3
– Gently detach the soldered wires from the motherboard. Keep an eye on the positive and negative signs where the red and black wires are connected, so you don’t mix things up later on.
Step 4
– Gently solder the new speaker wires to the motherboard just like the old ones were connected. Remember, the red wire goes to the ‘+’ symbol, and the black wire connects to the ‘-‘ symbol. You’ve got this!
Step 5
– Now that the solder points are nice and cool, it’s time to nestle that speaker snugly into its housing on the back bezel—just like in the image. Get it seated properly, and you’re one step closer to bringing your device back to life!
