How to open and close a Metabo St EP 455
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 4 Steps
Time to get up close and personal with your jigsaw! If you’re dealing with sawdust buildup or need to swap out a part, you’ll need to crack it open. Don’t worry, this guide has got your back – we’ll walk you through the steps to open it up and, just as importantly, put it all back together again. Follow along and you’ll be a pro in no time. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair
Step 1
Ensure the jigsaw is unplugged before you dive in. Safety first, my friend!
– Time to get those bolts loose! Start by unscrewing the one that’s keeping the guide plate snug on the jigsaw.
– Next up, tackle the 10 screws that are holding the two frame halves together. You’ve got this!
Step 2
– Gently work your way around the edges to slowly separate the two halves. Take it easy and go around evenly.
– Once they’re apart, keep an eye out for any loose parts that might be hanging on.
– There’s a nut holding the guide plate bolt in place – make sure to remove it carefully.
– Watch out for a small piece of plastic that’s holding some cables in place. It might need a gentle nudge.
– There’s a metal strip that’s pushing the blade back. Just be mindful of that as you move through the steps.
Step 3
– No matter how you split those halves apart, to bring them back together, it’s super handy to pop the saw blade mechanism into the half with the other components.
– Next up, let’s make sure everything lines up just right and fits snugly:
– Check the holes for the blade holder—those need to match up! The axis is chilling on the other half.
– Don’t forget about the blade driver.
– Slide in the blade guide.
– Lastly, secure that metal strip.
Step 4
– Next, place the empty half carefully on top of the one holding all your parts. It’s like putting the lid back on your favorite snack jar.
– Now, grab your screwdriver and tighten everything back up. Make sure it’s nice and snug, but don’t overdo it – we’re not trying to build a fortress here!
