Asus TF300T Tablet Display Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
Replacing the tablet display is a real challenge since it’s held tight with adhesive and requires a hair dryer to loosen things up. A cracked screen messes with how the display works, so swapping it out is a must.
Step 1
Handle the plastic opening tool with care when you get to the charging port, as it’s a bit on the delicate side and can break if you’re not careful.
– First, unplug the dock and make sure the device is powered off. Safety first, right?
– Grab your trusty plastic opening tool and carefully work your way around the screen to lift it out of the outer casing. No rush, just take it slow and steady!
Step 2
You can leave the battery right where it is for most of this replacement—just make sure to power off the switch first. And hey, keep those metal tools away from anything they shouldn’t be touching—no accidental sparks allowed!
– Gently lift up the black shield covering the circuit board—no wrestling match required!
– Before diving in, make sure to flip the hard power switch to the ‘off’ position. Grab a tool and give the switch a nudge to where it says ‘off’.
Step 3
– Let’s get started by using a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 3mm screws that connect the battery to the motherboard – it’s an easy first step.
– Next, use the same trusty screwdriver to remove two more 3mm screws that hold the clips in place.
– Now it’s time to get a little delicate – use tweezers to carefully remove two wires that connect the battery to the motherboard.
– Finally, use a spudger to gently pry the battery out of the case – you’re making great progress.
