Step 1
– Slide a plastic opening tool into the groove between the back cover and screen, like you’re prying open a treasure chest.
– Gently work that tool around the edges of your device until the rear case pops off completely, revealing all the hidden treasures inside.
Step 2
– Time to get that motherboard ribbon cable loose. Use the flat end of your trusty nylon spudger to gently flip up the retaining flap on the Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) connector. This will release the orange motherboard ribbon cable, and you’ll be one step closer to getting your device up and running.

– Gently coax the retaining flap of the ZIF connector up using the flat end of the nylon spudger, freeing the black motherboard ribbon cable like a pro!

– Grab your trusty nylon spudger and use the pointed end to pop that battery connector up—easy does it!
– Swapping out the battery? When reconnecting the cable, give the battery connector a firm press with your finger until you hear that satisfying click. That’s the sound of success!

If you need to remove the motherboard, it might be a good idea to tackle this step later on, when you’re simultaneously working with the motherboard. This can make things a bit more straightforward.
The battery is snugly held in place with some adhesive, so you might need a little muscle to free it from its cozy home in the device.
– Time to get this battery outta here – use the flat end of that trusty nylon spudger to carefully pry it up/

– Alright, let’s dive in! Start from the top and work your way down, removing all 20 screws using a #000 Phillips head driver. Easy peasy!
– You’ll find (2) sneaky screws tucked away in the top corners, hiding out in the speakers. Go get ’em!
– Next up, (4) screws are hanging out along the top of the battery. Then, you’ll find (3) on each side of the battery and (3) along the bottom. They’re just waiting for you to give them some attention.
– Don’t forget the screw in the middle of the motherboard on the side with the orange ribbon cable—just (1) there. And wrap it up with (4) screws chilling at the bottom of the motherboard. You’ve got this!
Step 7
– Carefully disconnect your battery by pulling out the cables that link it to the main circuit board – the motherboard.
Step 8
– Before diving into the assembly, gently unplug those side buttons and cameras from the motherboard using your trusty tweezers.
– The motherboard loves to go on an adventure with the battery, so it’s easiest to pop them out together. Check out Step 5 for all the juicy details!
