Step 1
Power down the laptop completely before diving in.
– Turn your laptop belly-up, and spin it around so the battery is looking right at you.

– Slip the pointy end of your trusty spudger into the battery lock groove. Give that lock a gentle push to the left with the spudger—just enough to hear that satisfying little ‘click’ as the battery pops free. Easy peasy!

– Gently slide the battery towards you to free it from its cozy spot in the laptop.

– Let’s get started by removing all eighteen 8 mm screws using a trusty Phillips #0 screwdriver. Take your time and make sure to keep those screws organized – you’ll need them later!

– Gently wiggle a metal spudger along the seam to pop those clips holding the keyboard in place. You’ve got this!

– Pop out these two 4 mm Phillips #1 screws like a pro!

– Find this ZIF ribbon and gently flip the white top hinge upward. Then, carefully fold the ribbon over toward the right side—nice and easy now!

– Gently slide the hard drive to the right, then lift it off the laptop with a little care. It should come off easily!

– You’ve got a screw on each side of the metal casing holding the hard drive—get those out carefully!
