Asus X551CA Battery Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 6 Steps
Over time, your laptop battery might start to feel a bit sluggish, and that’s totally normal! To keep things running smoothly and ensure you get the most out of your charge, swapping it out for a fresh one is the way to go. Let’s keep that energy up!
Step 1
Make sure to power down and unplug your laptop before diving in. Safety first, my friend!
– Alright, flip that laptop belly-up—it’s time for surgery! Grab your Phillips #0 driver and remove these screws:
– Two 9.5 mm screws hanging out smack dab in the middle of the back edge, plus one solo 9.5 mm screw chillin’ on the right edge.
– Next, evict those two 4.3 mm screws camping out in the back corners.
– Swing your driver over to the left edge by the optical drive and unscrew the big boss: one 17.5 mm screw.
– Finally, give the front edge a little love and unscrew three 4.3 mm screws holding down the fort.
Step 2
– Grab your trusty plastic opening tool and let’s get that keyboard plate cover separated from the bottom cover! Just slide the tool in between the two, and gently work your way along the edges to pop it open. You’ve got this!
Step 3
– Spot the trio of ribbon cables bridging the keyboard plate cover to the bottom cover.
Step 4
– Flip the laptop over so you can see those magical ribbons underneath.
– Carefully remove each ribbon by popping up the little white plastic flap (it’s like opening a tiny treasure chest!) and gently pulling the ribbon free.
Step 5
– Now it’s time to get that keyboard plate cover off! Carefully remove it from the bottom cover, and once it’s free, stash it in a safe spot where it won’t get damaged or exposed to moisture. You’re doing great, keep it up!
Step 6
– To put your device back together, follow these steps all over again in reverse order, simple!
– Take your electronic waste to a responsible recycler or it will send you to recycling jail.
– If repair didn’t go quite as planned, don’t stress! Try some basic troubleshooting, get a second opinion, or ask for help from our community at Salvation Repair.
– You did it! Now, go forth and repair more stuff or, if you need help with another tricky repair, you can always schedule a repair
