Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 9 Steps

Ready to dive in and take apart your Audiophase AM/FM Dual-Alarm Clock Radio? We’ll guide you through unscrewing the screws and gently separating the parts from the casing, so you can peek at the circuit board and connectors without breaking a sweat. Let’s get this little device open and see what’s inside!

Step 1

– Power down the device and remove the backup battery from the bottom—safety first!

– Flip the device over and locate the five screws: one in each corner and one at the center near the top.

– Grab your Phillips screwdriver, remove all five screws, and keep them safe in a bag so they don’t wander off.

Step 2

– Gently coax off the bottom casing of your device by slowly easing the bottom part away from all sides. Remember to be gentle as there are still some wires hanging on for dear life!

Step 3

– First things first, go ahead and unscrew all those screws after gently lifting the bottom part to free the casing from the circuit board and screen. You’ve got this!

– Now, delicately take out the smaller circuit board and place that top casing in a safe box. Keep it cozy!

Step 4

– Once you’ve gracefully lifted off the top casing, take a moment to admire the inner workings! You now have a clear view of the circuit board, electronic screen, speaker, and radio parts.

– Now, with a gentle touch (and no tugging on those delicate wires), carefully pull out the speaker and the smaller circuit board. You’ve got this!

Step 5

– Carefully unscrew the shiny gold mechanism from both ends and toss those screws in a bag for safekeeping.

– Gently lift the part out to free those wrapped wires. You’ve got this!

Step 6

– Carefully unwind the wire from its cozy circular wire holder.

– This will help you loosen the shaped wire, making it easier to gently separate the circuit board.

Step 7

– Use your Phillips screwdriver to poke through the glue and loosen up those glued wires.

– Unwind the cords from around the shaped wire—take your time, no rush.

– Get ready to unplug the backup battery connector.

Step 8

– Carefully unplug the backup battery connector—it’s the one with the blue 9V battery plugs.

– Slide the connector out through the opening in the device’s inner casing (check out where the index finger’s pointing).

– Let the circuit board go free.

Step 9

– Carefully pull all components apart, keeping track of how everything fits together.

– And just like that, you’ve taken down the Audiophase AMFM Dual Alarm Clock Radio! Nice work.

– Reassembly is just a matter of reversing these steps—put everything back in the right order, and you’re good to go.

Success!
