DIY Nintendo DS Bottom LCD Screen Replacement Guide

Once you’ve got that circuit board out of the way, the bottom LCD screen can be easily lifted out from your Nintendo DS.

Step 1

– Gently take out the cartridge from the console, like you’re giving it a little hug.

– Grab your trusty Phillips #00 Screwdriver and unscrew the little guy holding the battery door to the back case.

– Now, carefully lift off the battery door and set it aside, ready for the next step!

Step 2

– Time to get that battery out! Use a plastic opening tool or spudger to carefully pry it loose from the bottom. Don’t have one? No worries, your trusty fingernails can come to the rescue if needed.

– Pop out the battery from your Nintendo DS.

Step 4

– Take out the seven 6.4mm Y00 screws on the back. Time to get those screws out of their cozy home.

Step 5

– Alright, let’s do this! Use your hands to gently pop off the back panel from the main case.

– Now, carefully separate the back from the front and set it aside.

– Grab your trusty Phillips #00 screwdriver and unscrew the four little guys holding the circuit board in place. You got this!

Step 7

– Pop the black clip up to unlock those two big ribbon cables.

– Gently wiggle the ribbon cables down and out using just your fingers.

Step 8

– First, spot the two tiny ribbon cables hiding under the big one on the right. They’re a bit sneaky, but you’ve got this!

– Next, gently slide the locks for those small ribbon cables to the side and carefully pop them off. Just like that, the cables are free!

Step 9

– First things first, find that sneaky Wifi antenna pigtail connector. It’s hiding, but you got this!

– Now, gently grab the antenna by its head with your trusty tweezers. Give it a little wiggle and pull up with a smooth motion to free the connector. Easy peasy!

Step 10

– Now it’s time to get those ribbon cables in place – gently feed them through the opening on the board.

– Next, carefully pull up and remove the circuit board, then set it aside where it’s safe and out of the way.

– Now that you’ve got everything back together, just retrace your steps in reverse to complete the reassembly.
