How to Replace Nintendo 3DS XL Battery
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 4 Steps
To access other components on your Nintendo 3DS XL, you’ll need to remove the battery first. Make sure the device is powered off before starting.
Step 1
Turn off your device before starting. Zapping yourself or frying your gadget is a no-go.
– Flip your 3DS upside down. Eject the game card, unplug those headphones, remove the charging cable, take out the stylus, and disconnect anything else hooked up to the device.
Step 2
The screws are secured with captive washers, so no need to worry about fully removing them. Just unscrew carefully and keep them in place.
– Alright, tech whiz, time to get started! Using a trusty JIS #0 screwdriver, loosen those two sneaky black screws on the back. Easy peasy, right?
Step 3
– Once the screws are out of the picture, it’s time to gently pop off the back cover.
Step 4
– The battery can be found on the left side of your 3DS. To take it out, simply use the small gap at the top-middle and gently pull up with a non-metal pointed tool. You’ve got this!
