Step-by-Step Guide to Replace Xbox 360 Quick Charge Kit Capacitor
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
Step 1
– The unit is stuck together pretty well, so getting it apart might take a little finesse. Grab a utility knife and gently score the plastic from top to bottom all around the seams on the front, back, and bottom of the charger. As you go, you’ll notice the knife starting to make its way into the charger. Just take your time and be careful!

Step 2
– Grab your trusty spudger or a similar sturdy plastic tool, and start gently prying around the area you scored earlier. Just be careful not to poke too deep and accidentally damage any of the inner components. With a little patience, you’ll see it start to come apart like magic!
Step 3
– Take a closer look at that bulging capacitor on top – it’s a 2200uf 6.3V, and you can easily find a replacement at your local TV repair shop.
– Now, carefully de-solder it from the board, making sure to note the polarity. The side with the grey line is the negative side, which should be facing the heat sink.
Step 4
– Now it’s time to resolder the new capacitor into place. Remember to get the polarity just right, and you’ll be back on track in no time!
Step 5
– Let the games begin!
