Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom Motherboard Replacement Guide: DIY Steps

Ready to give your Asus ZenFone Zoom 3 motherboard a makeover? This guide will show you the way! We’re going to take off the back cover and battery, then get those soldering skills ready. It’s like giving your phone a little surgery, but with less drama. Remember, safety first! Step 1
– Grab that nifty sim card attachment from your trusty screwdriver set in the IFIXIT box and gently pop out the sim card tray from your phone. You’re on your way!
Step 2
– Grab your trusty T2 screwdriver and get ready for some action! Unscrew those 3.5 mm screws on either side of the charging port at the bottom of the phone. You’ve got this!
Step 3
– Time to get those hands working! Using the opening tool, gently separate the screen from the phone’s plastic body.
Step 4
– Grab your trusty PH #00 attachment and gently remove those 3.3 mm screws from the bracket chilling at the top left of the battery. Easy does it!
Step 5
– Once the bracket and screws are out of the way, gently lift the battery from the bottom of the device and set it aside. Easy peasy! If you hit a snag, remember you can always schedule a repair.
Step 6
– Grab your PH #00 and remove the trio of screws near the top of the phone.
– Heads up! The top right and left screws are 3.25 mm each.
– The middle screw is 2.65 mm.
Step 7
– Carefully detach the single black speaker wire that’s hanging out on the left side of your phone. You’ve got this!
Step 8
– Grab the flat edge of your trusty plastic spudger and pop off both ribbon connectors from the motherboard. Easy peasy!

– Grab those tweezers and gently lift the edges of the motherboard right above the battery. With a little finesse, you’ll be able to wiggle the motherboard free. You’re doing great!

– What you want to end up with is a motherboard that isn’t attached to the body of the phone at all. You’re doing great, just keep that vision in mind!
