Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
Getting to the GPU is a walk in the park and doesn’t need any tools! Follow this guide to jazz up or swap out the RAM in your Mac Pro. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
– Give that lever a gentle lift to pop the case open!
Step 2
Before diving in, make sure to zap away any static buildup by touching something grounded. Any metal slot cover will do the trick. You could also get fancy with an anti-static wrist strap. Let’s keep it groovy and safe.
– Take off the side panel of your Mac Pro and let the magic begin!
Step 3
– Find the graphics card hanging out in the open panel side of your Mac Pro. It’s just waiting for you to give it some attention!
Step 4
– Twist those two thumb screws counterclockwise with your fingers until the slide lock gives way. You’ve got this!
– Slide that lock right off and keep going!
Step 5
Only grab the card by its edges, folks! Keep those fingers away from any exposed components or connectors—let’s keep everything safe and sound!
– Press up on the clip right behind the graphics card to pop it out from its slot.
– Carefully slide the graphics card out of the slot using both hands. Hold onto the corners at the top of the card like a pro. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
