If the ports on the left side of your laptop aren’t working their usual magic, the IO board might be the culprit. Here’s a straightforward, upbeat guide to swapping it out yourself—let’s get those connections back in action!
Step 1
– Grab your J000 screwdriver and take out those pesky 6mm and 8mm screws at the back. Easy peasy!
Step 2
– Pop off the back cover of the flip book with a metal spudger—just take it slow and steady, no need to wrestle with it.

– Grab your trusty J000 screwdriver and get to work unscrewing those 3mm screws that are holding the battery onto the motherboard. Piece by piece, you’ll loosen things up. Take your time, but don’t forget, you’ve got this!
Step 4
– The battery is cozy with the motherboard, so before you can remove it, you’ll need to disconnect them.
– Use your trusty tweezers to gently pull out the battery connection from the motherboard. Take it slow and steady.
– Carefully unhook the Wifi cables from the battery’s rim, just like untangling some earbuds.
– Now, it’s time to gently lift the battery out and say goodbye!

– The IO Board is located on the left side of the device, secured with a couple of screws—one 3mm and one 6mm—and connected to some other parts. Grab your Phillips head J000 screwdriver and unscrew those 3mm and 6mm screws on the IO Board. If you run into any issues, remember you can always schedule a repair to get professional help.
Step 6
– Once you’ve unscrewed everything, take your tweezers and gently disconnect all the cables from the IO Board. We’ve marked the spots in the images to make it easy for you. Stay calm and steady, you got this!
