Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 7 Steps
Get ready to dive into this guide where we’ll help you peel off the motherboard cover, including the nifty NFC antenna, of your Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017). If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
The adhesive on your Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) is no joke—it’s quite the tough cookie! If you’re having a hard time getting it open with the iOpener, feel free to give a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate a whirl. Just remember to keep it cool; the AMOLED display and internal battery are both a bit sensitive to heat. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
– First things first, make sure to power off your phone before diving into the exciting world of disassembly!
– Grab your trusty iOpener and use it to gently loosen the adhesive under the back cover. Let it work its magic for a good two minutes. Feel free to give it another go a couple of times if you need to, because removing that back cover can be a bit of a dance!

Step 2
– Grab a small suction handle and pop it at the bottom end of your Galaxy A3 to get things started!
– Slide an opening pick into the gap and gently glide it to the bottom left corner to slice through that adhesive.
– Keep the opening pick snugly in the bottom left corner to stop the adhesive from playing tricks and resealing.
– Now, grab a fresh opening pick and start cutting the adhesive towards the bottom left side of your phone. You’re on the right track!

Step 3
Give that iOpener another go if the adhesive is playing hard to get! Remember, as you work on removing the back cover, it’s under a bit of stress and can easily crack if the adhesive isn’t nice and loose. Take your time and keep it cool! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
– Grab your trusty opening pick and carefully slice through the adhesive all around the phone. Don’t forget to leave one pick in each corner to keep the adhesive from sticking back together.
– Once you’ve cut the adhesive, slide an opening pick into the right side of the phone. Twist it gently until you have a solid grip on that back cover!

Step 5
– Let’s get those five Phillips #00 screws out of the way so we can free the motherboard covers! You’ve got this!
Step 6
The cover is held in place by tiny plastic clamps. Be careful not to break them while you’re gently removing it.
