Ready to tackle that battery replacement for your Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017)? Just a heads up, when you pop it open, you’ll lose that waterproof seal. Your phone will still work like a champ, but you might want to think about those adhesive seals to keep things water-tight. And hey, if your battery is looking a bit puffy, please be careful! No heating it up, okay? Swollen batteries can be tricky, so make sure to wear some eye protection and take it easy. If you’re feeling uncertain, it’s totally cool to reach out to a pro! Remember, you’ll need some replacement adhesive to stick that battery and back cover back on when you’re done. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
Heads up! The adhesive on your Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) is pretty tough. If the iOpener isn’t doing the trick, feel free to use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to give it a little extra love. Just remember, too much heat can be a bummer for the AMOLED display and the internal battery, so keep it cool! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
– First things first, power down your phone before you dive into the disassembly adventure!
– Grab your trusty iOpener and let’s get that back cover loose! Place it on the adhesive for a solid two minutes. Don’t worry if you need to repeat this a few times; it’s all part of the process!

Step 2
– Grab a small suction handle and gently pull to create a little gap at the bottom of your Galaxy A3.
– Now, take an opening pick and slide it down to the bottom left corner to slice through that sticky adhesive.
– Keep that opening pick in the bottom left corner so the adhesive doesn’t decide to stick back together.
– Insert a fresh opening pick and start cutting the adhesive towards the bottom left side of the phone.

Step 3
Give that iOpener another go if the adhesive is being stubborn! Remember, while you’re working on the back cover, it’s under a bit of pressure. If the adhesive isn’t loose enough, you might end up with a cracked cover. So, keep it loose and easy!
– Grab your trusty opening pick and gently slice through the adhesive all around the phone. Keep one pick snugly in each corner to stop that adhesive from sticking back together.
– After you’ve tackled the adhesive, slide another opening pick into the right side of the phone. Give it a little twist until you can securely grasp the back cover.

Step 4
– Let’s get started by taking off the back cover of your phone. It’s like opening a surprise gift!
– Before you slap on that fresh adhesive, make sure to clear away any leftover sticky stuff from both the back cover and the frame. Grab some isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to give those surfaces a good clean – they’ll thank you later!
Step 5
– Unscrew those five Phillips #00 screws holding the motherboard covers like a pro! You’ve got this!
Step 6
The cover is held in place by those little plastic clamps, so be extra careful not to break them while you’re taking it off!
– Grab your trusty tweezers and gently lift off the top section of the motherboard cover. You’re doing great!

– Grab your trusty spudger and slide the flat end into the bottom right corner of the battery. Give it a gentle nudge to lift it up just a tad!
– Now, slide that spudger over to the bottom left corner of the battery and give it another little lift. You’re doing great!

Step 11
Heads up before you dive in:
– Gently slide that spudger under the battery along the sides of the recess, slicing through the last bits of adhesive until the battery is ready to pop out!
– Stick to the areas highlighted in yellow (the rim) when prying—those are your safe zones!
– Steer clear of the red-marked area (the center); that’s the back of the display, and we want to keep it intact!
