Asus F554LA-WS52 Keyboard Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 3 Steps
If you’ve updated your keyboard drivers and your keyboard is still giving you the silent treatment, don’t fret! This guide will walk you through replacing it. All you need is a Phillips #0 screwdriver and a plastic opening tool. Let’s get your typing back on track!
Step 1
Ensure that your notebook is powered down and unplugged from any outlet.
Six (6) screws will be 9.6mm and four (4) screws will be 12.7mm. Get your measurements right, and you’ll be on your way to a successful repair!
– Turn that notebook over and get ready to unscrew! Grab your trusty #0 Phillips head screwdriver and take out those 10 screws from the back plate like a pro.
Step 2
– Turn your notebook back to its original position.
– Carefully use a plastic opening tool to lift and detach the keyboard.
Step 3
– (Not pictured) First things first, unplug those three cables from the keyboard and one from the touch-pad—let’s set them free!
– (Not pictured) Grab your trusty plastic opening tool and carefully pop off the metal separation plate from the keyboard. It’s like peeling a banana, but way more rewarding!
– (Not pictured) Now, with that same plastic opening tool, gently nudge the keyboard out of its cozy spot and swap it out for the new one. You’ve got this!
