Get ready to swap out that RAM module in your ASUS Eee PC, model 1005PXD-BLK024S! Whether you’re dealing with a stubborn faulty module or just want to give your device a little boost (or a downgrade), these step-by-step instructions have got your back. Remember, there’s just one RAM slot in this trusty machine, and it welcomes any DDR3 SO-DIMMs (Small Outline Dual In-line Memory Modules) with open arms. Just a heads up, though: the CPU here is only going to recognize up to 2GB of RAM, so any extra capacity will just be hanging out and not doing much. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
– Alright, let’s kick things off! Before you dive into the disassembly of your electronic buddy, make sure it’s unplugged from any power source. Double-check that the AC adapter is disconnected from the laptop. Safety first, right?
– Now, flip that laptop over so the battery side is facing you. Give the left slider a little nudge to the left to unlock it. It’ll stay in that position, ready for action!
– Next up, slide the right slider to the right. It’s a bit of a free spirit and won’t lock in place, so while you’re pressing that slider, gently slide the battery towards you to pop it out. Easy peasy!
Step 2
– Start by loosening that Phillips screw keeping the RAM module cover in place. You’ve got this!
– Now, gently lift the cover up, being careful not to snap any of those three plastic tabs that are securing it to the bottom of the laptop (two on the left, one on the right). Easy does it!
Step 3
– Gently nudge the two metal brackets that are keeping the module in place to the side, away from the module. This little maneuver will let the module pop right up!
Step 4
– Take hold of the RAM module and gently slide it to the left.
– Voilà! You’ve now got a vacant RAM slot ready to welcome your shiny new replacement module.
