Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 3 Steps
Here’s your go-to guide for swapping out the keyboard on your Asus Eee PC 1005PXD-BLK024S! Whether your keys are acting up or you’re just in the mood for a new keyboard layout, we’ve got you covered. Let’s dive in and make that keyboard shine again! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
– Alright, folks! First things first, before diving into any electronic adventure, make sure to unplug your device from the power source. Double-check that the AC adapter is not connected to your laptop—safety first!
– Now, flip that laptop over so the battery side is facing you. Slide that left slider to the left to unlock it—give it a little nudge, and it will stay in place, ready for action.
– Next up, gently slide the right slider to the right. This one’s a bit more playful and won’t lock in, so while you’re pressing it to the right, slide the battery towards you to set it free. Easy peasy!
Step 2
– Flip your laptop upside down and pop open that lid! Take a peek at the top of the keyboard where you’ll find 4 tiny pins waiting for your attention.
– Grab an opening pick and gently nudge those pins away from the keyboard. A small flat head screwdriver works wonders too! Starting with the middle clips makes it a breeze.
– To keep those pesky clips from locking the keyboard again, try holding the keyboard upright or use another opening pick to lift it after you’ve pressed the first clip. You’ve got this!
Step 3
– Gently raise the top of the keyboard from the laptop, just a little bit!
– Now, reach around and carefully unplug the ribbon cable from the motherboard. A gentle tug will do the trick!
– Once that’s done, you can slide the keyboard right out. Easy peasy!
