Step 1
Before you dive in, make sure your laptop is turned off and fully closed. Safety first, right?
– Flip your laptop over so the stickers are looking up at you.
Step 2
Don’t forget, using both thumbs adds that extra oomph!
– To access the bottom compartment, slide one finger underneath the laptop and give it a confident pinch with your thumb.
– Gently glide the bottom compartment with your thumb until you hear that satisfying pop as it comes loose.
Step 3
– Let’s kick things off by removing those twenty 6 mm screws with your trusty Phillips #00 screwdriver.
– Next up, gently unplug the battery and disconnect all those components that are hanging out with the motherboard.
– Now, grab your pry tool and give the bottom of the laptop a little nudge to pop it open.
Step 4
– Gently detach the larger ribbon cable connecting the motherboard to the keyboard by pulling on the end that’s linked to the keyboard. You’ve got this!
Step 5
– Peel off the tape that’s keeping the smaller ribbon connected to the touchpad. With a gentle touch, unplug the smaller ribbon by giving it a little tug.
Step 7
Look out for some sneaky screws hiding undercover a piece of tape. Give that tape a gentle peeling to reveal and unscrew those little troublemakers.
– Take a moment to unscrew all those M2 x 3 Phillips screws that are keeping the keyboard locked in place. You’ve got this!
Step 9
– Lift the touchpad off gently from the frame by pushing upward.
