Step 1
– Slide your fingernail or a plastic opening tool into the little notch at the top of the rear-facing camera.
– Carefully pry and twist the flexible rear cover away from the back of the phone.
Step 2
– Gently pop out the SIM card using your fingers.
Step 4
Alright, in this step, get ready to fire up the heat gun! Remember, this tool packs a hot punch, so play it cool and handle it with care. To keep both yourself and your device in tip-top shape, make sure to rock those heat gun safety moves straight out of its manual. Let’s keep the repair party going without any unexpected surprises!
– First off, pop out the battery, SIM card, and MicroSD card to avoid any mishaps when things get toasty. Trust me, you don’t want to roast those goodies!
– Grab a heat gun and hold it about 2-3 inches away from your phone. Give it some warmth to loosen the adhesive under the display.
Tools Used
Step 5
– Begin at the top left corner and gently slide a guitar pick between the display and the phone case.
Step 6
When you’re working on the display, gently pry around the edges of your phone. Just a heads up, there’s a delicate metallic strip at the bottom of the screen linking the display to the motherboard, and it’s a bit of a diva—handle with care!
If you feel any resistance while prying, pause for a moment, give it some love with heat, and then try prying again. You’re doing great!
– Grab that trusty pick and gently slide it in the direction shown to help lift the display. You’ve got this!
Step 7
If you meet some resistance, pause your prying and reapply some heat to keep things warm and gooey. Need help? No worries, just give us a call at schedule a repair!

Step 8
Feel free to detach the home button if you’d like! It can be a nifty little upgrade or just a fun step in your repair journey.
– Grab your guitar pick and give that screen a gentle lift, just a tad!
Step 9
Hold up! Don’t yank the front panel off completely just yet—it’s still tethered by a connector! And hey, if you’re giving that home button flex cable another go, handle it with care. That sneaky adhesive could cause the cable to tear away from the button. Sure, the button might still click, but forget using the fingerprint scanner.
– Gently raise the upper end of the display assembly just a bit—no need to take it off completely!
Step 10
– Grab a guitar pick and gently lift the front panel assembly cable connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard.
– Carefully detach the front panel assembly from the phone.
Step 12
– Give the back of your phone a little push (where the battery should sit) to pop out the large gray piece.
Step 13
– You should now have two separate pieces in front of you. From this point on, we’ll be focusing on the piece that contains the motherboard, which is shown on the right side of the picture. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair
Step 14
– Go ahead and gently pry apart the rear-facing camera from the motherboard using your finger or a trusty plastic opening tool. You’ve got this!
Step 15
– Now it’s time to carefully detach the rear-facing camera from the motherboard – just use your hands and a gentle touch to set it free.
Step 16
– Give that proximity/light sensor a gentle nudge with your finger or a trusty plastic opening tool to disconnect it from the motherboard.
Step 18
– Time to whip out those nimble fingers or grab your trusty plastic opening tool. Gently unplug the 3 button ribbon cable from the motherboard. You’ve got this!
Step 19
– Grab your trusty plastic opening tool and give that blue wire a gentle unplug as shown in the picture. You got this!
Step 20
– Once you disconnect it, the motherboard should practically waltz out.
– The motherboard should look just like what’s in the picture.
