DIY Tutorial: MacBook Pro 15 Bluetooth Board Replacement Guide

Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps

Ready to bring your Mid 2009 MacBook Pro back to life? This guide will help you swap out that pesky non-working Bluetooth board in the Anti-Glare model. Just a heads up, if you have the Glossy display, you won’t find this Bluetooth card mounted on the display; it’s hiding under the clutch cover. Let’s get started!

Step 1

– Time to get your screwdriver ready! Unscrew those ten little screws that are holding the lower case snugly against the upper case. You’ve got this!

Step 2

– Grab the lower case with both hands and gently lift it near the vent to release it from the upper case’s clips.

– Take off the lower case and put it aside.

Step 3

– Gently pull the male end of the Bluetooth cable straight out from its socket—no tugging, just a smooth exit!

– Grab your trusty spudger and use the flat end to carefully pry the Bluetooth antenna cable from its cozy spot on the board.

Tools Used

Step 4

– Unleash the magic: Unscrew the two 8 mm Phillips screws holding down the Bluetooth/camera cable retainer to the upper case.

– Voila! Lift the Bluetooth board/cable retainer assembly out of the upper case.

Step 5

– Gently remove the one little Phillips screw that’s holding the Bluetooth board in place on its cozy retainer.

– Lift up the Bluetooth board from its comfy retainer, like a pro.
