How to Replace iPad 5 Wi-Fi Left Antenna – DIY Guide
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 47 Steps
Hey there, remember to handle the battery with extra care when using a battery blocker! Safety first, rockstar.
Ready to tackle the challenge of replacing the left-hand antenna in your iPad 5 Wi-Fi? Time to get down to business. Remember: when it comes to unplugging the battery, handle with care using a battery blocker. Those battery contacts are delicate little things, so treat them right to keep your logic board safe from harm. And hey, if you’re feeling extra brave and want to skip the battery isolation step, just keep those metal tools in the toolbox for now. Save them for unscrewing duty to steer clear of any sparks flying and protect those precious circuits from harm.
Step 1
– Warm up an iOpener and give the left edge of your device a cozy two-minute treatment. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair

Step 2
– While you’re giving that adhesive a bit of time to chill, just a heads up on areas that are extra delicate when it comes to prying:
Step 3
The next three steps will introduce you to the Anti-Clamp, a nifty tool we’ve created to simplify your opening procedure. If you’re not using the Anti-Clamp, feel free to skip ahead three steps for another approach.
– Give that blue handle a gentle tug backwards to free the Anti-Clamp’s arms.
– Slide something under your iPad to make sure it sits nice and level between those suction cups.
– Place the suction cups close to the center of the left edge—one up top and one down below.
– Keep the bottom of the Anti-Clamp steady, then give that top cup a firm press to create a solid suction.
Step 4
– Push the blue handle forward to lock those arms in place.
– Twist the handle clockwise a full circle or until the cups start to stretch.
– Keep those suction cups aligned. If they start to wander, just loosen them a bit and realign the arms.
Step 5
– Take a breather for a minute to let that adhesive loosen up and create a little opening for you.
– If your screen is feeling a bit chilly, grab a hair dryer and warm up the left edge of the iPad for a cozy touch.
– Once the Anti-Clamp has worked its magic and there’s a nice gap, slide an opening pick under the digitizer.
– Feel free to skip the next step and keep cruising!
Step 6
– First things first, let’s warm up that screen until it’s cozy to the touch! Once it’s feeling nice and toasty, grab a suction handle and stick it to the left edge of the screen, as close to the edge as you can get.
– Now, gently lift the screen using the suction handle to create a little gap between the digitizer and the frame. Just a small one will do!
– Next up, slide an opening pick into that gap you just made between the digitizer and the frame. You’re doing great!
If your screen is looking like a spider web, don’t fret! Slapping on a layer of clear packing tape might just give that suction cup a fighting chance to stick. If you’re feeling adventurous, some super strong tape can step in for the suction cup too. And if you’re really in a bind, a little superglue can help you attach that suction cup right to the cracked screen. Remember, if you need help, you can always schedule a repair!

Step 7
No sweat if you spot the pick through the digitizer—just pull it out gently. The LCD screen should stay intact, but be mindful that you might leave some pesky adhesive behind. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair
– Pop in a second opening pick where you just made that gap.
– Glide the pick down to the bottom-left corner to loosen up the adhesive.
– Keep the pick in the bottom-left corner to stop the adhesive from sticking again.
Step 8
– If your opening pick is feeling a bit shy and gets stuck in the adhesive, just give it a little ‘roll’ along the side of the iPad to keep that adhesive separating like a pro!
Step 9
– Gently slide the first opening pick towards the top-left corner of the device to break up that pesky adhesive.
– Pop that pick in the top-left corner to keep the adhesive from sneakily re-sealing.
Step 10

– Gently glide that opening pick across the top edge of your gadget, stopping just shy of the front camera. You’ve got this!
Step 13
– Gently pull the pick out so that just the tip is nestled between the digitizer and the frame. Nice and easy!
– Slide that pick above the front camera to break free the adhesive. You got this!
– Keep the pick close to the right side of the front camera as you move forward. You’re doing great!

Step 21
Just a friendly reminder: only slide that pick in about 1 mm to keep the right antenna safe and sound!
– Gently slide an opening pick into that sweet little gap you just made.
– Now, glide the pick under the home button and aim it toward the bottom-right corner. Just the tip should be cozy between the digitizer and the frame!
Step 22
– Pop that pick back in and slide it towards the home button to peel away that bottom adhesive completely.
– Leave the pick chilling to the right of the home button before moving on.

Step 24
Take it easy with this step! Make sure the adhesive is nice and toasty, and use a pick to carefully separate all that sticky stuff. If you need to pause and give it another heat-up, go for it!
If you hit a snag and it’s not budging, give those edges some extra warmth and coax them gently with an opening pick. Need a hand? You can always schedule a repair.
– Give those two opening picks a twist on the left corners of the iPad to give the digitizer a little boost, separating the last of the adhesive in the process.
Step 26
– While keeping the digitizer steady, sneak an opening pick between the display cables to gently separate the remaining adhesive.
Step 27
– Once you’ve successfully separated all that sticky adhesive, gently open the digitizer like a book and lay it down parallel to your iPad. Easy peasy!
– When it’s time to put everything back together, make sure to clean off any leftover adhesive from the frame—and the digitizer if you’re reusing it—using some isopropyl alcohol. Then, stick on our
