Step 1
– Let’s get started! First up, unscrew those 10 little screws that are holding the lower case of your MacBook Pro 13″ Unibody snug and secure. You’ve got this!
Step 2
– Gently raise the lower case and slide it towards the back of the computer to release those pesky mounting tabs.
Step 3
Just a friendly reminder: to keep things safe and sound, it’s a good idea to unplug the battery connector from the logic board. This will help you dodge any electrical surprises while you work your magic.
– Gently nudge the battery connector upward with the flat end of a spudger to release it from its cozy spot on the logic board.

Step 5
Be sure to gently pull the connector parallel to the logic board’s face and toward the optical drive, avoiding any straight upward yanks from its socket.
– Time to disconnect the camera cable – simply pull the male end straight out of its socket. Easy peasy! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 6
– Gently guide the camera data cable out of its cozy little channel in the optical drive.
Step 7
– Let’s get started by taking out those screws!
– Next up, gently slide the camera cable bracket away from the subwoofer and carefully remove it from your device.
Step 8
– Grab that handy plastic pull tab attached to the display data cable lock and give it a gentle twist towards the DC-In side of your computer.
– Now, gently pull the display data cable connector straight out from its socket.
– Just a friendly reminder: make sure to pull the connector straight out and not upwards from its socket.
Step 9
– First up, let’s get those two screws out that are holding the display data cable bracket to the upper case. Grab your trusty screwdriver!
– Once those screws are gone, gently lift the display data cable bracket out of the upper case. Easy peasy!
Step 10
If you see it, go ahead and peel off that little strip of foam tape clinging to the display screws next to the display data cable. You’ve got this!
Step 11
– Unscrew those two outer 6.5 mm T8 Torx screws that are holding each of the display brackets snugly to the upper case—there are four screws in total to take care of!
Step 12
– Pop open your MacBook until the screen is standing tall and proud at a right angle to the base.
– Set your open MacBook down on a table, just like in the picture.
– With your left hand, hold the display and the upper case together, and go ahead and unscrew that last 6.5 mm T8 Torx screw from the lower display bracket.
Step 13
Make sure to keep a steady grip on the display and upper case with your left hand. If you let go, you might just watch them take a tumble, and nobody wants to see those parts get hurt!
– Time to say goodbye to the last pesky T8 Torx screw that’s keeping the display snugly attached to the upper case. Let’s get it out of there!
Step 14
– Take hold of the upper case with your right hand and give it a gentle twist toward the top of the display, allowing the upper display bracket to sneak past the edge of the upper case.
– Now, tilt the display just a smidge away from the upper case.
Step 15
– Gently lift the display away from the upper case, keeping an eye out for any brackets or cables that might try to tag along for the ride.
