Once you’ve successfully popped out the battery, it’s time to tackle the keyboard! Grab your trusty spudger and screwdriver, and let’s get those keys off. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 1

– Grab your laptop with both hands, making sure the battery is facing up like a proud little flag!

Step 2

– Put your thumbs to work by gently squeezing the two tabs beneath the battery towards each other.

Step 3

– Gently nudge the battery upwards and let it slide out of the laptop, just like that!

Step 4

– Keep pushing that battery upwards until it’s fully free from the laptop, just like that!

Step 5

– After you’ve successfully popped out the battery, it’s time to tackle those highlighted 3mm screws (4) with your trusty #0 Phillips head screwdriver. Let’s get that device open!

Step 6

– Once you’ve unscrewed all four screws, flip the laptop over with the keyboard side up.

– Grab your trusty spudger and gently pry up the keyboard all around until it’s free from the laptop. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair

– Once the keyboard is off, you’ll see the ribbon cable that connects it to the laptop’s motherboard. Time to get up close and personal with your device!

Step 8

– Grab your trusty spudger and gently nudge those white clips upwards that are keeping the cable in place. You’ve got this!

– Carefully wiggle and pull the strip out of the square slot, just like a magician revealing a hidden card!
