This guide will walk you through each step with ease, so you can give your device the camera upgrade it deserves. If you hit a tricky snag along the way, don’t hesitate to schedule a repair for some extra support!

Step 1

– Time to get this repair started. Insert the trusty blue plastic opening tool into the seam between the back panel and the chassis. This is where the magic begins.

Step 2

– Gently slide that trusty plastic opener around the tablet. You might hit a few stubborn spots along the way. Just give them a little pop as you glide through the seam, and you’re on your way to success!

Step 3

– Once you’ve popped all the clips open, the back panel should come off with a gentle tug—just like peeling a sticker off your favorite notebook!

Step 4

– Meet the right-hand speaker, known as ME102A-R, chilling by the battery plug. We’ll kick things off with this little guy first! But hey, if you’re just here to swap out the left-hand speaker, feel free to jump straight to that section.

– To unplug the speaker cable, grab your blue plastic opening tool and gently push it parallel to the motherboard. Think of it as giving the cable a little nudge to help it along.

Step 5

– Using your trusty PH00 screwdriver attachment, gently unscrew the M2x4mm screw. You’re doing great—keep it up!

Step 6

– Gently lift the speaker by the end opposite the steel latch, and give it a little wiggle to slide it out from under the latch. Boom, speaker removed!

Step 7

– Find the left-hand speaker marked with ME102A-L—it’s chillin’ next to the silver and blue ribbon cable across the top of the battery.

– Pop off the ribbon cable labeled CN2 by carefully flipping up the white latch of the black-and-white plugs. A small blue plastic opening tool makes this a breeze!

– Now, do the same for the ribbon cable labeled CN1. Gently lift the white latch of those black-and-white plugs using your trusty small blue plastic opening tool.

Step 8

– Gently pull out the speaker cable by pushing it alongside the motherboard with the flat side of your trusty blue plastic opening tool. You’ve got this!

Step 9

– Carefully twist out the M2x4mm screw using your trusty PH00 screwdriver. You’ve got this!

Step 10

– Time to set that speaker free! Lift it up from the end that’s opposite the steel latch, and gently slide it out from under the latch. And just like that, the speaker is out!

Step 11

– Grab that nifty blue plastic opening tool and gently pop up the black latch that’s holding the blue ribbon cable snug against the motherboard. You’ve got this!

Step 12

– Let’s get started by using that handy blue plastic opening tool to carefully unplug the battery plug. Just gently push it out, keeping it parallel to the motherboard.

Step 13

– Grab your trusty PH00 screwdriver and pop out those 4 black M2x4mm screws chillin’ at the bottom of the motherboard. You’ve got this!

Step 14

– Grab your trusty PH00 screwdriver and let’s get to work! Carefully unscrew those 2 shiny silver M2x2mm screws sitting at the top of the motherboard. You’ve got this!

Step 15

– Carefully lift the motherboard from both sides, giving it a little wiggle if needed to help it make its grand exit.

Step 16

– Grab your trusty tweezers and gently lift the electrical tape surrounding the front and rear cameras (make sure that ASUS lettering is facing up!). This part can be a bit of a sticky situation, so take your time. Just a heads up, the motherboard is a bit of a delicate flower, so handle it with care.
