Asus TF300T Tablet Screen Replacement

Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps

Swapping out the screen on your Asus TF300T Tablet? Piece of cake! Just pop off the back panel to reveal the inner workings of your tablet. Once you’ve got that sweet view, removing the screen is a walk in the park with the right tools and a little know-how. And hey, if you hit a snag or it feels too tough, no worries—just schedule a repair and let the pros handle it!

Step 1

– Kick things off by ensuring the dock is unplugged and the power is off. Safety first, right?

– Grab your trusty plastic opening tool and start on the side opposite the dock or charging port. Ease it open along the short edges of your tablet—don’t be shy, it’s all part of the process!

– Once you’ve made the full round with your opening tools, it’s time to bring in the spudger! Use it to gently pry the back panel away from the screen, revealing the inner workings of your device. Easy peasy!

Step 2

– Before diving into this tablet repair mission, make sure to power down the hard switch. The Asus Transformer series has one, and trust us—you don’t want it on while you’re working.

– Find the power switch near the power button on the top left. Grab a trusty tool and slide it to the ‘off’ position. No magic spells needed—just a little finesse!

Step 3

– Grab your trusty Phillips #00 screwdriver and unscrew all the little fasteners holding the battery to the motherboard. Think of it as setting the battery free!

– Now that the first set of screws has been evicted (refer to the photo for a visual pep talk), grab your spudger and gently lift off the cover. This will reveal the clips for the dock sensor and—you guessed it—a few more screws.

– With the same trusty screwdriver, remove those newly uncovered screws. Then, use the spudger to gently unplug the sensors from their clips. Go easy—they’re a little shy.

– Finally, with all anchors removed, use the spudger to carefully lift the battery out of its cozy little nook. You’re doing great!

Step 4

– Grab your Phillips #00 screwdriver and remove the screws lining the screen (marked red). No need to mess with the screws securing the dock connector, its fixing points, or the motherboard—they get to stay put. However, the screws holding the digitizer board on the left? Those need to go, along with the two screws hiding through holes in the motherboard.

– Unplug the digitizer cable—easy does it!

– Peel off the black tape (marked yellow in the second image). Yep, it’s got to go.

– Lift up the digitizer control board and remove the grounding tape tucked underneath the SD card socket.

– Time to disconnect the LVDS connector from the screen (top left in the images). Peel off the clear tape covering it, then gently pry the connector loose using the metal shoulders on each side of the plug.

– Carefully lift the tablet away from the screen assembly. The only thing still holding it down is a little grounding tape under the headphone socket (marked purple in the second image). Almost there!

– The two connectors on the digitizer cable come free by lifting up the beige tabs on the back of the sockets. If some black foam blocks are in the way, go ahead and peel those off so the cable can slide out.

Step 5

– To put everything back together, just retrace your steps and work backward through these instructions—easy as pie.

– If you’re feeling stuck or need assistance, you can always schedule a repair!
