The hard drive is like the brain of your computer – it stores all the important stuff. So, if it’s broken or damaged, it’s gotta go! Replacing it will get your device up and running smoothly again. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair with Salvation Repair.
Step 1
Make sure your laptop is powered down and unplugged before diving in—safety first, champ!
– Flip your laptop over and let’s get to work! Grab your trusty Phillips #0 driver and tackle these screws:
– First up, you’ll find two 9.5 mm screws right in the center of the back edge, and don’t forget the one 9.5 mm screw hanging out on the right edge.
– Next, check out the back corners where two 4.3 mm screws are waiting for you.
– Now, swing over to the left edge near the optical drive and remove that one 17.5 mm screw.
– Finally, wrap things up by unscrewing three 4.3 mm screws along the front edge.
Step 2
– Grab your trusty plastic opening tool and slide it between the keyboard plate cover and the bottom cover. Gently work your way around the edges, prying them apart. It’s like unwrapping a gift, but for your device!
Step 3
– Find the three ribbons connecting the keyboard plate cover to the bottom cover. They’re hiding there, waiting for you to uncover them. Make sure to spot them before moving on.
Step 4
– Flip your laptop upside down to get a good look at those ribbons waiting for some love.
– Gently lift the tiny white plastic flap to release each ribbon, then carefully pull it out. Easy peasy!
Step 5
– Now that you’ve successfully detached the ribbons from the bottom cover, it’s time to gently lift off the keyboard plate cover. Once you’ve done that, make sure to place it somewhere safe and dry to keep it in tip-top shape!
Step 6
– Grab your Phillips #0 screwdriver and tackle those three 5.5 mm screws like a pro—time to unscrew and conquer!

– Once it’s all set free, gently lift the hard drive out of its cozy little home.
