Asus ZenFone 2 Disassembly
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 4 Steps
Heads up! Before diving into this adventure, make sure you’ve completed the prep work. It’s like stretching before a workout—it sets you up for success and prevents any unnecessary hiccups. Take a deep breath, and let’s get everything ready to roll!
Step 1
– Gently slide your fingernail under the back cover at the marked spot and give it a little nudge. As you work your way around the edges with your finger, feel for that satisfying pop as the cover comes off. It’s like a surprise party for your phone!
Step 2
Hey there! That little black screw hanging out by the camera and flash has a sticker on it. No worries, though! It’s just a sticker in the way, and you can pop that screw out like it’s no big deal. Just let the tip of your screwdriver do its thing and pierce right through the sticker. Easy peasy!
– Let’s get started by removing the screws from the back of your phone. You’ll need to take out thirteen black screws and one silver screw using a JIS size 00 screwdriver.
– A quick note about the screws: the black ones are 2.8 mm long, and the silver one is 5.5 mm long.
– Take your time and carefully remove each screw – we’re making great progress!
Step 3
Let’s get started! The parts of the inner backing that are stuck down with double-sided tape are pretty easy to loosen. Just slide the plastic opening tool underneath and gently lift it up – it’s like a little escape artist!
– Grab your trusty plastic opening tool and gently pop off the inner backing of the phone—easy does it, no Hulk moves needed!
Step 4
Make sure to remember where the speaker unit goes, so you can pop it back in its cozy spot when it’s time to put everything back together.
– Put everything back together by reversing the steps—you’re on the home stretch!
– If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
