Dell Inspiron n5050 Display Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 7 Steps
Swapping out the display can be a bit of a puzzle since there are some fragile cables that require a gentle touch. But don’t worry, you’ve got this! Just take your time and be careful.
Step 1
– Turn your laptop upside down to see the bottom side and find those two tricky locks waiting for you!
Step 2
Slide these locks like a pro, and watch the battery free itself—like it’s finally taking a much-needed vacation.
– Gently slide those two locks apart, giving them the space they need to do their thing.
Step 3
Make sure to completely take out your laptop’s battery.
– Gently pop that battery out of your laptop and give it some time to breathe.
Step 4
Be gentle with the screen surround; it’s held on by some pretty fragile plastic clips. A little love goes a long way, so no wrestling matches, okay?
– Turn your laptop right side up and open it up like a book.
– Gently slide the flat side of your spudger along the inside of the screen and its surround.
– Take your time to work your way around the screen, carefully popping the screen surround off the lid.

Step 5
The lid is still snugly connected to the WIFI antenna, so let’s keep it in mind as we proceed.
– First things first, unplug that cable from the camera and give it some breathing room!
– Next up, grab your trusty screwdriver and unscrew the six screws holding the display support frame to the laptop lid. Once you’re done, gently lower the lid onto your desk.
– When it’s time to put everything back together, start by plugging in the camera cable first. After that, secure the lid with those screws you just removed. You’re on your way to a fully functional device!
Step 6
Be careful with this cable, as it’s super delicate and can break easily! It’s stuck to the back of the display with some glue, but don’t worry, you can carefully peel it away without causing any damage.
– First things first, let’s disconnect that display cable! Grab onto the sides where those snazzy clips are holding it tight.
– Now, give a gentle pull on each side of the cable. With a little finesse, you’ll pop it right out of its cozy connector. Easy peasy!
Step 7
To make this part a breeze, grab a magnetized screwdriver – it’s the way to go!
– Time to loosen those display screws from the hinge! You’ll find two screws on each side, just waiting for your attention.
– Start with the bottom screws; they’re the ones that need your focus first.
– As you tackle the top screws, keep a steady grip on the screen with your other hand. We don’t want it taking a tumble!
