Dell Venue 8 7840 Screen Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 8 Steps
Got a screen that’s seen better days? Whether it’s cracked, scratched, or just looking rough, swapping it out can bring your device back to life.
Step 1
Power off your device before you begin. Keeping it on could lead to a little zap – and we definitely don’t want that!
– Position the device so the screen is facing you, ready to dive into the repair adventure!
Step 2
The screen is snugly secured to the tablet, so if the plastic spudger isn’t cutting it, grab a metal spudger to help pop it open. Patience is key—go slow and steady!
– Using a plastic opening tool, gently pry open the bottom left corner of the screen.
Step 3
– Now, gently pop open the top left corner of the screen. Take your time—no need to rush!
Step 4
– Now, carefully nudge open the top-right corner of the screen. You’re almost there—nice and steady does it!
Step 5
– Finally, give that bottom right corner of the screen a little nudge to pop it open!
Step 6
Hey there! A little heads up: steer clear of prying open the screen from the left side of the tablet. It’s glued down tighter than your favorite pair of jeans! If you try this, you might end up causing some damage. Let’s keep it smooth sailing!
– Now that you’ve successfully pried open all the corners of your tablet, it’s time to carefully swing open the screen from the right side – you’re making great progress!
Step 7
– After you’ve popped that tablet open, go ahead and find the connector. You’ve got this!
Step 8
– Unplug the connector from your tablet with a steady hand and a smile!
